Day 1: Arrive Paro (By Flight) and transfer to Thimphu (55 km/1½ hrs drive approx)

The flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular in the entire Himalayas. Upon arrival, after immigration formalities and baggage collection, you will be met by our representative, and driven to Thimphu. Arrive and check-in at your hotel.

Later, visit Trashichhoe Dzong, Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) and the local crafts bazaar. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Thimphu

After breakfast, go sightseeing in Thimphu valley. Visit the National Library, Institute for Zorig Chusum, Textile Museum, Simply Bhutan, Pangri Zampa, Takin Preserve, Changangkha Lhakhang, and King's Memorial Chorten.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Thimphu / Gangtey (150 km/5 hrs drive approx)

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel & drive to Gangtey (Phobjikha) visiting Dochula Pass (altitude 3080m) en route. On arrival in Gangtey, check-in at your hotel.

This evening take a stroll around fascinating Gangtey Village and Gangtey Goenpa, the only Nyingmapa monastery on the western side of the Black Mountains.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Gangtey / Punakha (70km/3 hrs drive approx)

After breakfast, explore Phobjikha valley to see Black Neck Cranes and continue to Punakha. En route take a short walking excursion to visit to Chimi Lhakhang. On arrival in Punakha, check-in at your hotel. Later visit Punakha Dzong.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Punakha / Paro (120km/4½ hrs drive approx)

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Wangdue Phodrang to visit the Dzong and local market. Continue to Paro along scenic highway, visiting Simtokha Dzong en route. After lunch, visit Ta Dzong, Rinpung Dzong (ParoDzong).

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Paro

After breakfast, excursion to Taktshang Monastery or Tiger's Nest (approx. 5 hours walk) Afternoon, drive to Drukgyel Dzong, later visit Kyichu Lhakhang , an important Buddhist temple.

Day 7: Depart Paro (By Flight)

After early breakfast at the hotel, drive to the airport for flight to your onward destination. Our representative will help you with exit formalities and then bid you farewell.

    Closed on Saturday, Sunday & on Government holidays.

  • Textile Museum, Thimphu:
    Closed on Government holidays & on Sunday. On Saturday, open from 9:00 am to 4 pm.

  • Folk Heritage Museum, Thimpu:
    Closed on Sunday & on Government holidays.

  • Institute of Zorig Chusum (Arts & Crafts School), Thimphu:
    Closed on Sunday & Government holidays. On Saturday, open from 10 am to 12 pm. Also closed in winter (Dec-early March).

  • Simply Bhutan, Thimphu:
    Closed on Sunday & on Government holidays.

  • Tiger's Nest Monastery, Paro:
    Closed on Tuesday.

  • Ta Dzong, Paro (National Museum):
    Closed on Government Holidays.
